Academic Cooperation and Visitors

  • The Faculty of Public Health has extended its cooperation and co-usage of resources to other faculties in the Health Sciences group and to other domestic and overseas public health organizations.
  • The faculty has initiated academic cooperation and signed MOUs with institutions abroad in order to develop the faculty in various aspects, namely teaching and learning, research, academic services, maintenance and conservation of arts and culture, and many other facets:

National Level

  • MOU with the Emergency Medical Service Institute for research
  • MOU for sharing of resources under the operation with the seven Health Science Faculties and Center of the Health Sector of Khon Kaen University.
  • MOU with the National Health Security Office, Khon Kaen Regional Branch for research and training.
  • MOU with Sawattee Community, Muang, Khon Kaen province, Thailand for field practices and research.
  • MOUs with the Office of Public Health and the Office of Disease Prevention and Control 6, Khon Kaen for training and research.

Academic Services inside and outside Khon Kaen University

The Faculty of Public Health encourages academic services for the social sector, including organizations in the northeast of Thailand and other regions, through knowledge transfer to the public in general and public health organizations. These services include providing guest speakers and experts to give consultation on wastewater treatment or workplace environment monitoring. In addition, workshops have been organized to transfer knowledge for everyday use in the occupations of the general public, such as food handling

  • Advisory services, external thesis committees, and occupational committees at the national and international levels
  • Academic service project or activities through the need to develop and encourage the strengthen of society community national and international level

Vision

An center of excellence for data management and statistical analysis for health science research

Mission

  • Serve as an organization for research and development of information technology for data management as well as human resource development that meets international standards
  •  Provide services on data management and data analysis, and facilitate researchers to produce high quality research
  • Collaborate with international communities to develop the software for data management and statistical analysis

Status

  • A not-for-profit, self-financing organization under regulation of the Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University
  • Founded by the Board of the Faculty of Public Health on 8 November 2012

Activities 

Current and regular activities include:

  • Conducting workshops on statistics:

- Essential concept of statistics using “Stat Village” as a tool to expose learners to real practice in the household survey

- Workshop series for basic, intermediate, and advanced course in data management and statistics

- Workshop series for clinical research associate (CRA) to supply for research organizations requiring intensive regulatory environments

  • Conducting workshops on manuscript writing for research:

- Participants are required to bring their own data to the workshop

- Large data set from real research projects are also provided for participants who do not have data

  • Host database servers for more than 10 large research projects at national level
  • Develop data management software
  • Train graduate students in data analysis and scientific writing. Participating programs include the Ph.D. (Epidemiology and Biostatistics), Ph.D. (Oral hygiene), Ph.D. (Biomedicine), Dr.P.H., M.Sc. (Biostatistcs), and M.Sc. (Clinical Epidemiology)
