History and Vision
HISTORY
- The Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University, was founded under the third National Economic and Social Development Plan with the consensus of Khon Kaen University Council at the third meeting of 1971 on Monday 26, July, 1971.
- The Ministry of University Affairs made an announcement by virtue of Article 9, Clause Two of the Khon Kaen University Act of 1978. The official organizational structure of the Faculty of Public Health was determined on December 29, 1978 and was announced in the Government Gazette, page 18, volume 96, section 5, of January 16, 1979.
- The structure comprises six departments and teaching and learning is organized under the Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Health, a 4-year curriculum, in which the first group of undergraduate students were enrolled in 1980.
- The curricula for the teaching and learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels have been continually improved. At present, four programs of study are offered at the undergraduate level, 9 master programs and 3 doctoral programs.

- To be one of the top three Public Health institutions in ASEAN for both research and education.

PHILOSOPHY
- Health development and promotion for Thais by participation of Thai people, especially people in the Northeast of Thailand, through the use of modern technology and research to produce public health personnel with great capabilities and ethics.
DETERMINATION
- The Faculty of Public Health was established to produce public health personnel with the knowledge, capability, academic experience at a national and international level, along with professional morals and ethics, and the ability to apply academic theories in practice and create new innovations for greater efficiency.
